Title: The Right to Die
Post by: jaywhat on May 19, 2007, 10:06:57 pm
Of all the rights we have, one of them is the right to have some choice at the end of our life.  I do not want to live if I am in serious pain and terminally ill and totally dependant on others. If you are interested in this subject you might like to visit www.dignityindying.org.uk

I have a living will which spells out my wish not to be resuscitated if it would leave me in a permanent vegetative state.  It also states that I give my organs, if they are any good by then, for use in medical science.

We only have one life and we should enjoy it while we can.

as soon as I became an atheist, I instinctively understood the sentiment expressed so well by Clarence Darrow:

QuoteWe are born and we die; and between these two most important events in our lives more or less time elapses which we have to waste somehow or other. In the end it does not seem to matter much whether we have done so in making money, or practicing law, or reading or playing, or in any other way, as long as we felt we were deriving a maximum of happiness out of our doings.
